Hi, I'm Roee, and I do theater. I write plays and create performative events.
Why do I create theater? Well, it's all about getting in touch with the things themselves. That's why my works are always grounded in reality, striving to be an active part of it. Most of my pieces lean towards documentaries, where I explore new questions about the documentary concept in each project.
Besides that, I'm also an ethnographer. My research revolves around young renters in Tel Aviv and how they form attachment with their living spaces through daily actions. I'm also a Hebrew teacher at an elementary school and I live in Tel Aviv with my partner Yuval, a linguist, along with our feline companion, Mr. Russell, a grumpy gray cat. Regrettably, the building we currently inhabit is scheduled for demolition in the forthcoming years. Nevertheless, until that time arrives, I continue to fill it with cherished objects and an abundance of books, much to the chagrin of Yuval and the nonchalant attitude of Mr. Russell.
